Case study: example of two stretched canvas projects for professionals
The La Grange du Pain restaurant called on Espace Ombrage to equip its waterside terrace.
The objective was twofold: to effectively protect the tables from the sun and to highlight a convivial relaxation area facing the lake.
For this project, we installed several Australe 340 micro-perforated shade sails in a star configuration, providing extensive coverage of the area while creating a stylish visual effect. Thanks to their micro-perforated weave, the openwork shade sails guarantee thermal comfort and excellent wind resistance, while allowing air to circulate.
The sails are accompanied by our aluminium masts, screwed directly into the terrace. This enabled us to offer a multi-canvas project while preserving the aesthetics. These masts, available in a version that can be sealed for earthy areas and in a version with wall plates to avoid drilling, can be adapted to all situations.
The result: a functional and welcoming terrace where customers can enjoy their meals in the cool without getting sunburned, even in the height of summer.
The municipality of Woluwe in Belgium approached us in 2024 for a temporary shading project.
The initial objective was to provide outdoor sun protection for festivals and events. Ultimately, the solution became a veritable oasis of coolness in the city centre, enjoyed by residents throughout the summer.
We installed professional Australe 340 openwork shade sails to create a pleasant and safe shaded area.
To make the whole thing more aesthetically pleasing, wooden boxes were made to hide the concrete slabs and ballast bases required for this temporary installation. Masts with ballast bases are perfect for temporary or seasonal installations, as they avoid the need to dig holes in public places where permission is often required.
The result : is a practical, removable installation that is also warm and welcoming, transforming the square into a place to relax in the heart of the city.

The cable shade sail
Ideal for large-scale installations and sites exposed to wind, the cable sail can be used to create very large shaded areas (up to 55 m²). Thanks to its stainless steel cable integrated around the entire perimeter of the sail, it guarantees perfect tension and wind resistance of over 80 km/h. Available in Australe 340 fabric and in an M1 fire-retardant version, it offers effective sun protection while ensuring user safety.
Galvanised steel masts
